Fire Station No. 4
Bellevue, WA
The previous Station 4 located in the Factoria area of Bellevue, consisted of two apparatus bays and very inadequate living quarters. The selected design alternative retained the footprint of the apparatus bays and razed all of the remaining portions of the building. The new designed added new sleeping rooms (5), showers, dayroom, kitchen and dining areas with natural clerestory lighting, laundry and decontamination rooms, exercise, offices, shops and a meeting room. The station is now 6,750 sf and was completely renovated to the status of a new and much more functional building. Exterior materials consist of standing seam metal roofing with a combination of wood and stucco wall finish.
