New Hangar and Cargo Facilities,
SeaTac International Airport
The new 263,000 SF facility includes a (2) bay 747 line maintenance hangar, an air cargo facility, and a ground services equipment (GSE) facility. The hangar facility includes 484 feet of free span hangar bay capable of housing (2) 747's or (3) DC-10's concurrently, tire shops and storage, sheet metal and welding shops, tool storage, stock rooms, lockers and showers to support 370 employees, administrative office space, and conferencing, training and computer support facilities. The 50,000 SF cargo handling facility includes an automated material handling system, 17 truck loading docks, cooler facilities, and container handling equipment to serve a 747 freighter positioned on the adjacent 270,000 SF of hard stand.
